What you need to know
- Weekly timing can change after a qualifying full reset.
- A purchased instant reset and a banked reset are different products.
- Re-check Settings → Usage after a reset is applied.
How weekly timing works
The reset date shown in your Usage screen applies to your current account and workspace. Do not assume everyone resets on the same weekday or at midnight.
Purchased instant resets
Where offered, an instant reset restores eligible usage immediately. OpenAI says the next weekly period begins with the first request after the reset and the following automatic reset is scheduled seven days after that request.
Banked resets
A banked reset is saved until you use it or it expires. A qualifying full reset refreshes the five-hour and weekly windows and changes the weekly reset date.
