Identify whether the shorter window, weekly allowance, or a credit balance is responsible. Options vary by plan and account.
Check the account context
Verify that Codex is signed into the expected ChatGPT account and workspace. Credits and workspace allowances do not automatically follow you into another context.
Reduce avoidable consumption
Use focused prompts, limit unnecessary context, and choose the appropriate model and reasoning level. These choices can change usage, but they do not bypass an exhausted allowance.
Escalate a real mismatch
If access remains unavailable after the displayed time or a purchase is missing, collect the notice, time, account context, and receipt before contacting Support.
